Our Services

PDP provides assistance across four broad technical areas: governance and public management, economic policy, social policy and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Select main category or sub-category for details of our expertise in each of these areas.

Development Policy

Effective and coordinated planning and management of development assistance maximises the effectiveness of development policy. Countries that manage development assistance well are generally those with carefully selected spending priorities for capital and recurrent costs, well developed, agreed and sequenced reform programs and focused institutions. PDP assists governments to prepare external assistance strategies within the wider context of integration into the global economy, poverty reduction strategies and medium-term fiscal and budget frameworks. Our approach to development policy is grounded on the principle of sustainable policy recommendations that promote human rights, democracy, the rule of law and good governance.

We help governments and development partners to complete consultative group documents and poverty reduction strategy papers. We also undertake effectiveness reviews and performance assessments that support institutional capacity building and improved development planning and management at both the national, sub-national and sectoral levels. Ownership of our recommended development policy advice and strategies by clients and partner countries is the key to the success of our development policy initiatives.
